Upstate Shredding Buys New York Scrap Yard Brant

Upstate Shredding LLC-Ben Weitsman has purchased the assets of scrap metal recycling firm Brant Auto Parts, in western New York.

The Owego, N.Y.-based Upstate said in a news release that Brant, based in Irving, N.Y., serves 96 areas in the Buffalo, Hamburg and Dunkirk region.

“This location is perfect for our western expansion plans as we continue to build out our footprint and acquire yards that are strategically located in the Northeast,” said Adam Weitsman, owner of Upstate Shredding.

Brant specializes in the recycling all grades of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, including batteries.

Upstate said the acquisition was all cash, and the company will retain the existing staff.  The deal marks the 18th location for Upstate Shredding.
