Thalheimer Buys Scrap Metal Recycler Ansam

Thalheimer Brothers Inc. has purchased scrap metal recycler Ansam Metals for an undisclosed amount.

The Philadelphia-based Thalheimer, a non-ferrous scrap metal processor of brass, copper, nickel alloy and stainless steels, said in a news release that Ansam, based in Baltimore, will maintain its operations there and operate as a division of Thalheimer.

Ansam processes non-ferrous scrap metal, including all grades of cupro-nickels, monels and all other brass mill specialty items. Its president is Ben Zager.

"Ansam is a leading recycler of cupro-nickels and monels with an unparalleled reputation in the industry built over the last 40 years,” said Rich Reiner, Thalheimer CEO. “We look forward to working with Ben Zager and his team to continue to drive growth in those metals throughout the world."
