Rumpke Buys Farmer’s Ohio Waste Collection Assets

Rumpke Consolidated Companies Inc. has acquired waste collection assets from fellow Ohio hauler Farmer’s Refuse & Trucking Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

The Cincinnati-based Rumpke said in a news release that nearly 2,000 residential customers and 700 commercial customers throughout Athens and Hocking counties will shift to Rumpke, along with a small truck fleet. The Logan, Ohio-based Farmer’s retains the roll-off component of their business.

Farmer’s employees were invited to participate in Rumpke’s pre-employment screening process.

Farmer’s, which has significant family involvement like Rumpke, operated in those counties for nearly 40 years.

“We understand Farmer’s has a great service reputation, and Rumpke is dedicated to creating a customer experience that instills a positive opinion of Rumpke as well,” said Andrew Rumpke, vice president at Rumpke.
