Metal Recycling Purchases State Line Scrap

Metal Recycling Services (MRS) LLC has purchased State Line Scrap Metal Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

State Line operates a scrap metal recycling facility, including an automobile shredder, at its headquarters in Gastonia, N.C., and a feeder yard in Marion, N.C., according to a news release.

MRS is based in Crescent Springs, Ky., and wholly owned by The David J. Joseph (DJJ) Co., the Cincinnati-based subsidiary of Nucor Corp. The deal includes State Line’s assets and business.

DJJ said the acquisition is consistent with MRS’ growth strategy and reflects DJJ’s plan to expand existing regional recycling platforms.
