Meridian Waste Solutions Acquires Wilson Waste Systems

Meridian Waste Solutions, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Wilson Waste Systems, LLC, a local hauler in the greater St. Louis area including St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren Counties.

Wilson Waste handles collection and disposal services for both residential and commercial properties and works with roughly 17,000 customers in total.

“Wilson Waste has developed a solid base of customers with long-term contracts adding immediate waste volume into our landfill in Bowling Green. This is a classic ‘tuck-in’ acquisition,” said Meridian Waste CEO Jeff Cosman in a statement. “Over the past year, our operations team in Missouri has consolidated billing systems, accounting systems, routes and new contracts preparing for additional opportunities, like Wilson Waste, in the marketplace. Because of the hard work over the past year building our internal infrastructure, the company believes Wilson Waste can quickly be consolidated into our operations.  The company’s strategy continues to build internalized volumes into our landfills in Virginia and Missouri, while developing long-term objectives with new commercial and residential contracts.”

Another Meridian subsidiary, Attis Innovations Inc., was recently awarded a $3 million grant from the USDA to commercialize its lignin conversion and refining technologies.

Meridian, a publicly-traded firm, posted quarterly revenues of $14.8 million in the third quarter of 2017, and Holley Sides, the company's director of business operations and systems, was recently named to Waste360's 2017 40 Under 40 list.
