Autocar Trucks, Hagerstown, Ind., and International Truck and Engine, Warrenville, Ill., both have hired new presidents. Jim Johnston, Autocar's new president, had been with McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Dodge Center, Minn., for 16 years in a several management positions, but his most recent post was vice president and general manager of the company's refuse division. “Jim's deep knowledge and experience in the refuse industry will be an invaluable asset in meeting the needs of Autocar's customers,” says Andrew Taitz, chairman of Highland Park, Ill.-based Grand Vehicle Works (GVW) Holdings Corp. Autocar is a wholly owned subsidiary of GVW.
International's new president, Dee Kapur, will lead the truck business, which includes managing engineering and product development, manufacturing, vehicle center teams, and sales and support. Kapur also will be a member of the company's executive council, which oversees the company's operating results and strategic direction. Kapur worked for 27 years at the Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich. Most recently, he was executive director of Ford Outfitters for the North American truck operations.
