A Fair to Remember
The recent 2004 Ohio State Fair made a bit of history. For the first time, the fairgrounds featured recycling bins. The containers, provided by the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO), accepted bottles, cans and dry paper. The fair kicked-off with state, SWACO and fair officials ceremoniously tossing plastic bottles into one of the bins (above). To publicize the recycling effort, water bottles sold at the fair featured yellow stickers reminding festival attendees to recycle the bottles (left).
