Allison Transmission, Indianapolis, offers the MD 3000 series of transmissions, rated up to 930 gross pounds per foot of torque and up to 320 gross horsepower (hp). The transmissions are designed for front, rear and side loaders, as well as for dual-station trucks. Input/output features include a secondary shift schedule for dual-mode operation and an automatic neutral feature designed to prevent gear engagement when auxiliary equipment is in operation, the company says. Options include an integral retarder, which is designed to slow the vehicle before applying the service brakes.

Multi-torque ratings range from 335/370 braking horsepower (bhp), with peak torque ratings ranging from 1,050 pounds per foot at 1,200 rpm to 1,350 pounds per foot at 1,200 rpm. The C-12 has power ratings of 335 hp to 430 hp at 1,800 rpm or 2,100 rpm, and peak torque ranges from 1,350 pounds per foot to 1,650 pounds per foot. The 14.6-liter C-15 has power ratings from 335 hp to 550 hp, with peak torque up to 1,850 pounds per foot. The C-16 features two horsepower ratings: 575 hp with 1,850 pounds per foot of torque, and 600 hp with 2,050 pounds per foot of torque.

ISM engines are rated up to 425 hp with 1,550 pounds per foot of peak torque.
