Allied Signal Truck Brake Systems, Elyria, Ohio, says that electronically controlled braking systems (ECBS) advances vehicle braking in three ways:
Improved driveability — Brake fade response, brake proportioning, and sequencing and hill-holder.
Enhanced information — Brake condition monitoring, brake demand history and diagnostics.
Improved information — Sense and reaction to rollover conditions and yaw control by utilizing brake steering and brake function wear balance. Also, other systems can apply brakes, such as intelligent cruise control.
Finally, the company says that safety benefits include improved driver satisfaction and retention and reduced operating costs.
