South Orange, N.J.-based TransLoad America Inc., a provider of rail-based transfer and disposal of solid waste, has contracted with National Steel Car to construct up to 1,200 gondola railcars to service TransLoad's transfer stations and landfills.

Audubon, Pa.-based J.P. Mascaro and Sons has been awarded $25 million in new trash and recycling collection contracts by communities in Pennsylvania. Most of the contracts began on Jan. 1.
