Attleboro, Mass., Mayor Kevin Dumas has asked the City Council to borrow $7.4 million to build a new sludge landfill and cap the old one. Additionally, the funds would be used to cover demolition of the former wastewater treatment plant, construction of a storage garage and fueling station and the purchase of a front-end loader, a dump truck and a bulldozer.
A public hearing to discuss this request will take place on November 15.

Mayor Kevin Dumas has asked the city council for authorization to borrow $7.4 million to build a new sludge landfill and cap the old one.
The cash will also cover demolition of the former wastewater treatment plant, construction of a storage garage and fueling station and the purchase of a front-end loader, a dump truck and a bulldozer.
Vandals recently damaged some electrical transformers at the long vacant, former treatment plant off Pond Street North, causing oil to leak into the ground.
