Utah’s Salt Lake County Expands Curbside Glass Recycling Services

In Salt Lake County, Utah, Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling has partnered with Momentum Recycling to expand its curbside glass pickup to 30,000 residents in Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights and Murray.

The program, which started in August 2015 with just a few customers, has helped divert more than 26 tons of glass from the landfill.

The glass recycling program costs $8 a month and is optional to residents.

They've kept several tons of glass out of our local landfills and now Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling is expanding its curbside glass pickup. Glass recycling is now available to 30,000 new Salt Lake County residents.

It started with just a few residents, now residents in Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights and Murray can take part in curbside glass recycling.

Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams said, "This is something I hear a lot about from our residents, they're committed to recycling, but they want to make it more convenient."
