Law of the Land: Agencies of Change

NSWMA tracks and influences policies from Congress and federal agencies affecting the waste and recycling industry.


Ironically, I am writing a column about the National Solid Wastes Management Association’s (NSWMA) federal advocacy program the week the federal government shut down. Federal agencies are essentially closed while they wait for the President and Congress come to some sort of agreement concerning the 2014 budget. With an October 17 deadline for increasing the debt limit looming, this will likely be a very interesting month in our nation’s capital.
