Sims Totals Nearly 500,000 Pounds of E-Waste Recycling with Earth Day Events

Sims Recycling Solutions said its Earth Day events resulted in the recycling of nearly 500,000 pounds of electronic waste.

The Chicago-based Sims said in a news release that the 25 Earth Day events the company sponsored in April resulted in the collection of 472,985 pounds of e-waste for recycling.  Sims had more than 110 people working with the company at locations in eight different states, with more than 1,300 people dropping off material.

The goal was to raise awareness of e-waste recycling. The effort included an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the most consumer electronics recycled within 24 hours in multiple locations.
