E-Waste Firms in U.S., England Form Partnership

Electronic waste and commodity trading firm Fine Resources Inc., based in Daphne, Ala., has formed a partnership with E-Waste Systems Inc. (EWSI) of London.

EWSI said it will expand its capability to source large volumes of end-of-life electronics through this partnership.

Rick Fine, founder and president of Fine Resources, will be executive consultant of Global Business Development for EWSI. Fine will be responsible for sourcing waste streams and aggregating downstream volumes of commodities for refining and reusing electronics and sourcing partnerships to help reach EWSI's goal of vertical integration. the companies said in a news release.

EWSI recently completed its first U.S. acquisition in Ohio and has announced plans to make further acquisitions in the United States “to create a unified platform of businesses offering high-quality solutions to the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). EWSI is working to develop relationships with other organizations facing regulatory and/or other mandates for the handling of their e-waste.

"We are pleased to announce the completion of this agreement with Fine Resources,” said Martin Nielson, chairman and chief executive officer for E-Waste Systems. “Prior to signing this agreement, we, along with our acquisition targets, have experienced a significant step-up in e-waste tonnage, and we expect much more in the near future."

Together, we have the unique ability to establish and introduce effective and compliant global e-waste synergies with EWSI partners across the world."
