Waste Management altered its collections schedule in Pompano, Fla., in February and since then complaints have rolled in. And it’s gotten to the point now where the town’s mayor is looking at the possibility of ending its more than three decades’ long relationship with the hauler.
The Sun Sentinel has more:
"I am fed up," Fisher declared Tuesday night. "… Put them on notice… if this is not cleaned up in 30 days, we're going out for bid … It absolutely enrages me."
Last week, the city sent Waste Management an $81,000 bill for failure to meet the terms of its $22.5 million, five-year contract signed in October.
Waste Management spokeswoman Dawn McCormick agreed there is a problem: "There have been service challenges with some aspects of the new program, including new bulk and vegetative waste rules."
