Advanced Disposal Services Files Bid Protest Against Jupiter, Fla.

Earlier this month, the Town of Jupiter, Fla., weighed its hauler options and eventually decided to keep its current waste hauler Waste Management. Now, Advanced Disposal Services, one of the haulers that the Town of Jupiter was previously considering, has filed a bid protest against the town.

The bid protest, which consists of an 11-page letter, asks the Town of Jupiter to void its contract with Waste Management and award the contract to Advanced Disposal. The letter is currently under review and no decisions have been made.

PalmBeachPost.com has more information:

A bid protest against the town of Jupiter has been filed by Advanced Disposal Services Solid Waste Southeast, Inc., a week after the company lost out to Waste Management Inc. for the town’s trash contract.

The 11-page letter from Neil Schiller, an attorney with Arnstein & Lehr law firm in West Palm Beach asks that Jupiter void the contract with Waste Management and award the contract to Advanced Disposal.

“The Council’s decision to take this action was arbitrary and  capricious because it appears to be based on false information, questionable ethics of a third party and clear violations of the Palm Beach County Lobbying Registration Ordinance…,” according to the letter from lawyers representing Advanced Disposal.
