Group Forms Waste, Recycling Hauling Firm Earthwise Disposal

A group has formed a new waste and recycling hauling firm based in Des Moines, Iowa, known as Earthwise Disposal.

“The commercial sector of the waste stream in metro Des Moines, which accounts for 76 percent of the waste stream, is being underserved with the lack of options available for comprehensive waste stream management systems,” said Mick Barry, Earthwise co-owner and recycling industry veteran. He said the company’s waste and recycling services for central Iowa include document destruction and security, and organic and food waste composting.

Initially the company, which formed earlier this year as Greenwaste LLC but will be doing business as Earthwise Disposal, will focus on the residential and commercial roll-off business within the Des Moines metropolitan area.  It also will emphasize building a commercial front load waste and recycling route.

Todd Mendenhall, president of Cleaning Connection Inc., is also a co-owner. Barry has been president of M2B2 LLC.
