Composter and organics processor Totally Green Inc. has merged with an investment firm to gain financing and marketing support.

The Columbus, Ga.-based company said in a news release that Toronto-based York Plains Investment Corp. is taking a 50-percent interest in Totally Green. York Plains will provide $5 million of equity financing for the food waste processing company and up to $15 million in equipment financing for Totally Green’s new service program.

In addition to the funding, the principals of York Plains bring to Totally Green extensive experience in financing and building similar businesses.

Totally Green said it will use the financing proceeds to pay down its existing line of credit, and fund the general, administrative and working capital expenditures needed for the company’s growth.
