Delaware to Update Commercial Recycling Regulations

Delaware’s Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances is holding a public hearing on November 21 to discuss the regulations.

The State of Delaware is working toward establishing universal recycling regulations for the commercial sector, property managers and waste services providers in an effort to get everyone on the same page and to reduce the issue of commingling of waste and recyclables.

To loop the public in on the new recycling regulations, Delaware’s Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances is holding a public hearing on November 21.

DNREC Planner Don Long said the changes aim to clarify what falls under the commercial sector for recycling for businesses and apartment complexes.
