This session will look at recycling programs and technologies to the North, from major cities across Canada. Hear from the city of Toronto on the implementation of a new second generation organic cart, from design to implementation to consumer satisfaction and results. Also, find out the outcome of the implementation of green bin programs and every-other-week (EOW) garbage collection in more than 50 municipalities across Canada, and the effects it had on diversion rates, trash tonnage, and community engagement.
