Keep Pinellas Beautiful, a Florida-based affiliate of the national nonprofit organization Keep America Beautiful, has been honored with the Keep America Beautiful Affiliate Award of Excellence, which recognizes affiliates that “embody the vision, mission and values of Keep America Beautiful.”  Community volunteer and Waste Pro Municipal Marketing Manager Tracy Meehan serves as the president of the board.

Keep Pinellas Beautiful was also chosen as one of the top ten Keep America Beautiful Affiliates earlier this year. This is the first time Keep Pinellas Beautiful has won the award, which is one of the top awards affiliates of the national organization can achieve.

“I am immensely proud of the organization’s impact over the last year,” said Meehan in a statement. “However, when you look beyond the statistics of trash abated, gardens planted, educational outreach events and so on, you see a growing sense of community. We are working hand-in-hand to keep Pinellas Beautiful just the way it is.”

In 2016, Waste Pro was recognized as the 2015 Keep Pinellas Beautiful Commercial Recycling Partner for its work with implementing environmental protection initiatives throughout Pinellas County. That same year, Meehan also received national recognition by earning one of Waste360’s 40 Under 40 awards during WasteExpo in Las Vegas.
