Nearly four years ago, Green Kinetics Gateway signed a deal with Washington County, Md., for a waste-to-energy (WTE) project involving the county’s Forty West Landfill. And since then, Green Kinetics has struggled to secure funding for the project.
Green Kinetics Gateway has been trying to secure funds from one potential funder for the project, but the process is taking longer than expected. Those delays have now pushed the company to seek funds from a second financer.
Herald-Mail Media has more information:
A company with which Washington County signed a deal almost four years ago is still trying to secure funding for a waste-to-energy project involving Forty West Landfill.
The Board of County Commissioners got an update on the matter Tuesday during a tour of the landfill west of Hagerstown, County Administrator Rob Slocum said.
The county signed a contract on Dec. 3, 2013, with Green Kinetics Gateway LLC, a company America First created for the project that would use 15 acres at the landfill.
