When it comes to the environment, more people are becoming aware of the benefits of going green. However, it can be challenging for entire communities to embrace recycling. In order to impact change in local communities, it’s critical to educate consumers where they live, work and play. In this session, hear from different groups that implemented successful programs, including:

  • An outreach program conducted in Southern Nevada to introduce and encourage recycling within the school system and community, which can be replicated throughout the country to get teachers to help in the mission to reduce waste.

  • The outreach program from TDS Eco Academy that educates K-12 students about trash, recycling and composting options in their schools, making learning fun and enabling real world application.

  • How a Minor League Baseball team has become one of the greenest teams in the league and diverted nearly a million pounds of material from the landfill.
