Waste360 Names Szczepanski as Editorial Director, Kuffel as Associate Editor

Waste360 has named Mallory Szczepanski as its new editorial director and Hunter Kuffel as its new associate editor. Szczepanski has worked for Waste360 for the past two years and is replacing David Bodamer, who has moved over full-time to National Real Estate Investor.

“We are excited about Mallory’s new leadership of Waste360’s digital content and the addition of Hunter’s strong online skills and talents,” says Mark Hickey, vice president and market leader of Waste360. “Waste360.com delivered more than 3 million page views in 2017, and we look forward to expanding our strong engagement with our waste and recycling audience.”

In her new role, Szczepanski will manage editorial efforts, grow the brand’s digital presence and continue to attend and cover leading industry events, including Waste360’s WasteExpo. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago and has more than seven years of experience in B2B publishing, with articles featured in Contract magazine, Restaurant Business magazine, FoodService Director magazine and Concrete Construction magazine.

“It’s been a pleasure to be a part of Waste360 and cover solid waste and recycling for the last four years,” says Bodamer. “It’s truly a special industry with so many great stories and people. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in making Waste360 a more digitally focused brand and to provide essential daily coverage of the industry. And I’m excited to be able to hand the reins over to Mallory. She’s done an amazing job since stepping through the door, and Waste360 will be in good hands going forward.”

Kuffel is joining the Waste360 team to produce content and continue the brand’s coverage of industry news and events. He is new to the waste management industry, but he brings along a great deal of writing and editing experience from his past work.

Kuffel has written for a number of online publications, mainly providing coverage of professional basketball. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied English and served as senior managing editor of Scholastic, the longest running collegiate publication in the country.

Both Szczepanski and Kuffel hail from the Midwest and are based in New York.
