After four frenetic days of education, networking, awards, sharing of best practices and checking out the industry’s latest goods and services, WasteExpo 2016 is now in the history books. North America’s largest solid waste, recycling and organics industry event, wrapped up yesterday in Las Vegas.
The show featured 600 exhibitors—the most ever for the event—and nearly 13,000 attendees.
Industry pros from around the globe flocked to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Highlights included several days of education sessions, the exhibit hall, the National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NWRA) Annual Awards Breakfast, recognition for Waste360’s inaugural 40 Under 40, the Education Research and Education Foundation’s Annual Charitable Auction and the new Food Recovery Forum.
“The waste and recycling industry had another great show with strong attendance, a lot of new products and technologies and attendees from all over the world,” says Warren Bimblick, Penton Group President; Aviation, Financial Services, Sustainability and SmartReach. “We’re looking forward to doing it again next year in New Orleans.”
WasteExpo 2017 will take place from May 8 to May 11 at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
"Once again, WasteExpo exceeded all expectations,” says National Waste & Recycling Association President and CEO Sharon Kneiss. “We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback across the board—from the quality of the topics and presenters in the educational sessions, to the traffic and activity on the exhibit floor, and growing interest from the international community to learn best practices from the U.S. market and to supply innovative products and services to our members. As always, a major highlight was the awards program and our celebration of our industry's drivers, leaders and legends. We are already planning and looking forward to New Orleans in 2017."
