Brand Canyon Revisited

Some updates to our recent post about the aborted bottled water ban at Grand Canyon National Park. First, outrage over the decision has led groups like Change.org to circulate petitions to force the park to follow through with its original plan. The organization says it has obtained close to 100,000 signatures of support so far. Meanwhile, last week the New York Times uncovered National Park Service emails that would seem to confirm the hypothesis that fear of losing access to donations from Coca-Cola was a factor in the 11th hour reversal.

What do you think? Should the park follow through with the ban or are its stated reasons for not doing so justified?
